CLUB FUND RAISING OPPORTUNITIES

As a non-profit Club we need to fund raise during the year so that we can supply up to date equipment and kit.  Although we are very fortunate to be able to partake in a casino every 3 years, running a Club can be very costly.  Therefore, we now have a fund-raising team in Michelle Sprighton, Seanna Hutchinson and Julie Handrahan.  Their task is to set up fund raising initiatives for the Club to undertake during the year.  So far in 2013, there will be a bottle drive in January and our successful hanging basket fund-raiser in 2012 will be repeated in Spring along.  If you would like to be a part of this team, or have any suggestions for fundraising please do not hesitate to contact any of the team or email us at me4rugby@yahoo.ca.

CASINO

Alberta has adopted the charitable gaming model for casinos.  These gaming activities present excellent fundraising opportunities for charitable and non-profit organizations which generally include sport organizations and clubs, to raise funds for their worthy projects and services.

As we are a non-profit group, we are privileged to be eligible for a charitable gaming licence, which means we are able to hold two day events in a casino facility.   From this we gain valuable funds, which help us to run the rugby program in Cochrane, and provide a sport for children and adults in the Town and further afield.

Our next scheduled casino dates are tentatively scheduled for the Jan/Feb/Mar 2015.

MOTHERS' DAY FUNDRAISER

Julie Handrahan organised a Mothers Day Fundraiser in the form of hanging baskets at $10 each, this raised $740 for the Club.  A big thank you to Jane Boyce of Stone Creek Gardens in Bragg Creek for the fabulous flowers.  We will be repeating this fundraiser again in 2013 with the kind assistance of Julie and Jane again.  If you would like to reserve some baskets please contact us.
