Where do you train?
Our home pitch is on Mitford School playing fields next to the parking lot.
All home games are played in Cochrane but we travel to other Clubs for some league games.
What equipment/clothes should I bring/wear?
You do not need to bring any equipment.
For training you need to wear sports clothing but no hoodies or zippers for safety reasons. Soccer cleats are usually recommended when the grass/mud is dry.
It is highly recommended to wear a mouthguard. Standard ones can be purchased at any good sports store. If gagging is a problem then a fitted one is recommended. Bow River Dental Centre - located behind Macdonalds in Cochrane (our adult team sponsor) can fit one for you in a couple of days but they do cost more than standard ones.
What else should I know?
During the Summer seasons 2012 and 2013 the Grizzlies, were coached by Tyler Hawes. He is a Level 2 NCCP Coach currently working on attaining Level 3. He has been coaching for 5 years and has played all over the world at Pro, Semi-Pro and Amateur levels. Tyler has represented Calgary and the Priaries at the senior level as well as suiting up for Canada at the national level.
The Grizzlies play in the third division of the Calgary Rugby Union league, losing in the City Final in their second year as a team (2013). To view the results of games played in 2013 click here.
